At MK Mastering, our signal flow is entirely analog; we use physical equipment such as EQs, compressors, limiters, and bus transformers.
However, our workflow is digital. That’s why we specifically choose gear with Analog Sound - Digital Recall capability. Our goal is to preserve the analog character while providing the convenience of digital technology. This way, whether it’s the next day or years later, when feedback or revisions are needed, we can reopen the project with precisely the same settings down to the smallest detail. As a result, we deliver both the soul of analog and the flexibility of digital together. Mehmet Kurtuluş Mehmet Kurtuluş
Born in 1986 in Balıkesir, Mehmet Kurtuluş began his musical journey as a drummer in various bands. Over time, his interest in music technology became a central focus in both his academic career and professional work. After completing his undergraduate studies in the Music Technology Department at Cumhuriyet University, he continued his education in Música Eletrónica e Produção Musical at Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco in Portugal. Mehmet Kurtuluş completed his master’s degree in Music Science and Technology at İnönü University, where he also earned his PhD and continued his academic path, ultimately becoming an Associate Professor in Music Technology. He has been serving as the Head of the Music Technology Program for nearly seven years, while also teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in areas such as recording, mixing, and mastering.
His long-standing interest in mastering, combined with his academic research and professional experience, gradually evolved into the idea of establishing a studio. His passion for exploring the details, colors, and character of sound led him to design a world-class mastering studio. Founded with this motivation,
MK Mastering is a specialized space where he brings together his academic knowledge and musical experience.
Today, Mehmet Kurtuluş builds his mastering approach on treating every project as if it were his own music, blending the character of analog equipment with the flexibility of digital workflow, and providing artists with the highest possible sound quality. 1986 Balıkesir doğumlu Mehmet KURTULUŞ, müzik yolculuğuna farklı gruplarda davul çalarak başladı. Zamanla müzik teknolojisine olan ilgisi hem akademik kariyerinde hem de profesyonel çalışmalarında merkez bir noktaya yerleşti. Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi Müzik Teknolojisi bölümünde lisans eğitimini tamamladıktan sonra, Portekiz’de Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco’da Música Eletrónica é Produção Musical alanında öğrenim gördü. “İnönü Üniversitesi’nde Müzik Bilimleri ve Teknolojisi yüksek lisansını tamamlayan Mehmet Kurtuluş, aynı üniversitede doktorasını bitirerek akademik yolculuğunu sürdürdü ve Müzik Teknolojisi alanında Doçent unvanını kazandı.. Yaklaşık 7 yıldır Müzik Teknolojisi Program Başkanlığı görevini sürdüren Mehmet KURTULUŞ, aynı zamanda kayıt, miks ve mastering gibi alanlarda lisans ve lisansüstü dersler vermektedir.
Çok uzun süredir Mastering’e olan ilgisi, bu konudaki akademik araştırmaları ve deneyimleriyle birleşerek zamanla bir stüdyo kurma fikrine dönüştü. Sesin detaylarını, renklerini ve karakterini keşfetme tutkusu, onu dünya standartlarında bir mastering stüdyosu tasarlamaya yöneltti. Bu motivasyonla kurulan MK Mastering, hem akademik birikimini hem de müziksel tecrübelerini projelere yansıttığı özel bir mastering stüdyosudur.
Bugün Mehmet KURTULUŞ, mastering yaklaşımını her projeyi kendi müziği gibi ele almak, analog ekipmanların ruhunu dijital iş akışının esnekliğiyle birleştirmek ve sanatçılara en iyi ses kalitesini sunmak üzerine inşa etmektedir.
